Giving Thanks

It's hard to believe the holidays are upon us once again!  This Thanksgiving what are you truly grateful for?  What would you have if you woke this morning with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?  No matter what is going on in your life right now, there is someone else going thru something just as devastating to them.  The best way to get your mind off the negative is to think and focus on the positive.  Quick!  List 3 things you can be thankful for and of someone you could bless.  Now do it!  You will find that it helps you take the focus off your situation and you might see that it's not so bad and you can make it through it.

Here is a rendition of another card I have done before with a few minor changes.  I have always loved the Top Note Die because it's so versatile.  Here I've paired it up with the En Frances BG stamp and some designer paper punched with the 1" circle and Oval punch.  Stamped my saying and tied it off with some hemp twine.

Being "So Grateful" I used the Wood grain embossing folder along with some Designer Paper and topped it off with the leaf stamp from Lovely as a Tree set.  One stamp set that has NEVER gone out of style since I've been with SU!

Paired Acorns...

Okay, you can't tell me these guys aren't cute!!!  I've done 2 themes with them...one as a birthday and another as a thanks.  Can you ever have too many "Thank You and Birthday" cards?  Who doesn't love a thank you now and then?  And everyday is a birthday whether it's an "un" birthday or an actual birthday...  Yes, I have given out "un" birthday cards...  brings a smile to a face!
These cards use some retired colors, More Mustard and Ruby Red, along with Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, and Chocolate Chip.  I'm finding out that I love all the different things you can use punches for.  Cudos to all those girls that take the time to play and share the different ways to use them!!!  For the acorns I am using the retired decorations punch along with the oval punch as the acorn topper.  Added some googlie eyes and some ribbon for a stepped up factor and Waa La!  Here we are a couple of paired acorns!!!

Halloween 2014

Well my Halloween posts are a little late, but hey, better late than never!  Had a lot of fun with the girls making these cards...  I believe greens and purples were theme of these cards as it turned out.  Not intentionally, just happened that way.

Can I just say I am loving the owl punch and all the wonderful things I see done with it!!!  I've been sharing the different uses with my girls and they are starting to see this too...  Any way, here we've taken the owl and turned him upside down using the silver glitter paper making him into a ghost!  Added a moon in the background with a tattered "happy haunting" along the bottom.

Done a few cards similar to this over the years and all this time never done a "Bride of Frankenstein"!  I mean who doesn't love Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein!  If you like comedies and haven't seen this movie, you should!  Take your regular "Frankie" and add the silver streak (glitter) take the Fringe Scissors and cut some eyelashes!  Waa La!    Gotta say I am loving these scissors and so are the girls.  Last workshop I held all but one ordered them!

And last, but not least is my favorite card due to the theme of it... Wicked!  I am a Once Upon A Time junkie and I just had to do this card and call it Wicked after season 3's Wicked Witch of the West (who turned out to be Regina's (the evil queen) long lost half sister!)  I am so glad I bought this dress die because I love it!!!  Made the hat using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and the Word Window Punch.  The bats were used by punching just the edge of the Butterfly Punch wing adding a pearl for some bling and I used the Designer Typeset Polymer letters for the word.

First Vehicle

Here is a page long in the making....  Quintin worked all summer roofing when he was 15 and saved his money to buy himself a vehicle.  His uncle was selling his truck and it all worked out for him to buy it with cash!!!  He was so proud of it.  Lasted him 3 years till he bought another vehicle.  Will never forget his first, paid in full, on his own truck!!!

Hello There...

Hello there!  I know it's been a while, but oh my goodness where does the time go?  I made this card up for my Grandma who loves butterflies!!!  I got the die cut butterfly years ago that I just happen to come across laying in a pile of "I'm going to make a card from this soon" stuff.  Yea, well so what if it's been years...I still finally made a card from it!  One thing from the pile done...  :)
I added the Hello There stamp and then some ribbon along the bottom to dress it up some.  Cute and simple!!!
