Snowflakes of Joy....

This is another card that I "CASE'd" from Frenchie (such an inspiration for me)! This was such a fun card to make using our snowflake embossing folder and our ornaments set and punch. Really enjoyed sponging the snowflakes to make them pop!!! Oh, and don't forget the final little touch of the jingle bell on the ornament!!! This card just screams SNOW!!!! I love the snow. I love how when it firsts snows everything looks so clean and white and sparklie!!! Do not worry for those who do not share my enthusiasm, only a couple of months left....

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer....

This past November I came across Frenchie's blog and she has been very inspirational to me. This is one of the cards of hers that I "CASE'd" from her for Therapy Card Nite. It was a big hit, not only with the girls, but with me also! I loved it!!! I am sorry to see that this set and punch will not be carried over, but will most definatly be keeping these in my own private stash and will bring them out from time to time.

Happy New Year!!! 2011 was a good year filled with lots of surprises and great times. I got to surpise my grandma for her birthday, received a promotion at work and got to take a wonderful vacation to Florida with my family!!! I look forward to the new year with great excitement and anticipation. I hope you have taken the time to reflect on the past year, good, bad, or a little inbetween, and look forward to what the new year will hold for you.

In celebration of the new year, I put my creative mind to use and came up with this New Year's card. I know it uses expired items, but when an idea pops in my mind I just got to make it regardless of what is current or expired.

Loving this Medallion! So many ways to use it!!! Here we used the clear embossing powder on it, a glimmer brad in the center, and finished it up with some ribbon. This was another big hit with the girls, but then who doesn't love embossing.....

Embossed Birdbath

Oh my goodness!!! Can't believe the summer has passed by already!!! It has been a very busy one at that too, hence no postings. I have taken pics and have most of them uploaded to the computer, but not here. So here I go....

This is one I did for my Grandma. Really liked how the embossing really popped out when I rubbed Whisper White along it. This set is soooo cute, to bad it didn't make it in the new catty!!! This set is one of my keepers for sure.

Double Embossed Touch of Kindness

In our Stampin Success they showed this double embossed technique and I knew I had to try it out. And I have to say I LOVE IT!!! You put embossing ink (I use versa mark) on the smooth side of your embossing folder, run it thru the big shot, pour on some embossing powder, heat and waa laa....a beautiful look for any card!!! I made 3 cards with slightly different looks/stamps. Hope you enjoy as much as I do....

Are they not just gorgous!!! They feel even better!!!

More Mother's Day Cards...

As I am sure that I am not the only one, I have more than one Mother's Day card to make. So along with the card in the previous post here are two more that I made.

Although you can not really see it here on this card, I did try out the faux fabric technique. Think I need to use an embossing folder instead of the texture plates. So I will be trying this one again....

This card I did is a technique that one of my card nite girls brought for me to try out. And I have to say, even though it was a little confusing at first I really liked how it came out. All that is needed is to make an envelope for it to fit into.

The inside pops out and I think that it is really pretty neat. It is taken from a Martha Stewart tutitorial if you are wanting to try your hand at this.

Showers for Mother ~ April Card Nite

Can't believe it is the last full week of May already!!! This year is going so fast I need to stop blinking!!! I have fallen behind in posting pictures here on the blog, but I have been busy making cards and such. So do not leave me just yet....

These are the cards from April's Therapy Card Nite that are now long overdue. Once again, I did my play on words for the theme "Showers for Mother".

This was the Mother 's Day card we made using some retired DSP, cardstock (close to cocoa), and punch. Told you I had a lot of DSP I need to use....

This card I did a mild case of (I apoligize that I do not remember who) for a wedding shower. Really love how elegant it looks with the embossing, punch border and satin ribbon.

This one is a case from my Big Secret Sister (craftywitchAZ) I just changed up the colors, but loved the layout of this card. Will definately use it again!

This one I did using the Bargello technique. I did alot of the work with cutting the strips of paper so that all the girls had to do was layout their design and run it thru the Big Shot. This card was a big hit!

This was our baby shower card we did (although some did make it into an Easter card). Did case this one too and believe it or not, I did write down the girls I cased these from, but do you think I can find my paper!!!! This cards biggest challenge was doing the "ruffles" with the ribbon.

Secret Sister goodies....

Therapy Card Nite ~ March

Well figured I better get last month's cards up before this month's Therapy Card Nite! Ever notice how time just flies by? Especially when you've had sickness in your house for a while...over 3 weeks of it now!!! Glad we are seeing the end of it! Anyway, here is what the girls did last month. I do need to point out that a few of these are cases (not total, but close) and I do want to thank those wonderful women who share for the love of stamping. As I am sitting here uploading this post I am in the midst of working on TCN cards for next week! It's alot of fun to just get to stamp and play! Not only that, but be watching for a card I worked on the other day to show up here soon! So here is our manly birthday card this month. I'm not sure if I combined two cards to make this or if it was a close case. I've looked and can't find it soooo....if it is a case thank you and I am sorry. Who would of thought to use duct tape (man's best friend besides a dog) on a card? Whoever did, genius!!!

This is one I did using the faux silk (aka: dryer sheets) technique. The girls got a big kick out of this one!!

This card is lovely and it is a close case from "eyestitch" on splitcoast. I think this is one of my favs!!!

And then there is the Chocolate Easter Bunny card that was closely cased from shelly923 of splitcoast also! Great idea! Although I (having a blonde moment) tried the embossing technique using dazzling diamonds with the versa mark instead of the irridescent ice embossing powder!!! Took forever to figure out why the glitter kept falling off after heating it!

And then our girlie birthday card! Love this flower technique although it is a bit time consuming and in need of some patience to make it! Can say that the girls love the crumpling of the paper. It's a stress reliver for me!!!

Had a free day to play around and decided to finally make one of the Scallop Circle die cut cards. Wasn't too hard. This is pretty simple as I was trying to make a quick one. I used some of our Red Glitter paper that is in the Occasions Mini for her shoes. From there she kinda became Dorthy. Hope you like.....

Chocolate Lovers Stamp Camp projects

Just finished this class a few weeks ago and had a blast with the girls making it! I made the purses with the glitter paper and used tinsel and rhinestones to set them off with lots of bling. Found this ghirardelli box while surfing some stamp blogs. It holds up to 3 squares! Then on to the chocolate book!!! Who can pass this up!!! Got to say that the Eat Chocolate stamp set was the perfect set for this stamp camp!!!

Grandma's Birthday

I recently celebrated a birthday and received some cards from the Secret Sisters group I am in this round. The cards were so cute that I did my own version of one of them for my Grandma's birthday. The card I received had a butterfly and was done in purples. My grandma loves butterflies and her favorite color is blue so I changed the color scheme up a bit. I think it came out pretty good. I so hope she likes it. I'll find out shortly as I am going to Florida to surprise her for her birthday.

What a way to use 2 sets for a totally neat card. This is using "Pick a Petal" and "Flight of the Butterfly". I saw this a few years back on a stamp site and just added the scallop border punch along the bottom. Since "Flight of the Butterfly" has a few different sayings in this same loopy stamp you can change the theme of the card fairly easy. This just makes me ready for spring! Other than the fact I don't care for the orange biting ones too much!!! They're everywhere!!!

As we get closer to the "month of love", we can not forget one of the true loves of all women; CHOCOLATE!!! I have fell in love with the EAT CHOCOLATE set from Occasions Mini by Stampin' Up! This is the first card I made with this set. Of course it uses Chocolate Chip card stock, button, and ribbon!!! I also paired it with the DECK THE HALLS designer series paper from the holiday mini. I just think this beautiful!!!

Catching up in the New Year!

Oh wow! It is already well into January of 2011!!! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I know I did. And a white one at that!!! If you are like me time has just flown by. I hope you have thought about some of the things you'd like to do or try this year. I know I am wanting to work a bit more on my scrapbooks this year along with trying to (even though I am a bit late) keep up with my blog.

So with keeping with the latter of keeping up with my blog, here is the last Therapy Card Nite of 2010. Sorry about the pictures, I couldn't fix them the lighting is WAY off. (and I missed one)...

This one is done using Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, and Always Artichoke. I did CASE this one from Jamie Hurley, but as I've looked around it seems like a lot of people did one similar to this.

This is just a simple one I changed up from the Idea Book & Catalog using our Scalloped Edge Punch and Marvelous Markers.

This is using the sponge technique, Watercolor Pencils and an old, but favorite Christmas Word set of mine, Season Greetings.

Here is another one I did using some old DSP, versa mark, and chalks.

Thanksgiving Therapy Card Nite 2010

Oh I am sooooo far behind in keeping up on my blog weekly!!! Time is just flying by...can't believe it is the last full week of November!!! A few days till Thanksgiving actually. So here I am finally uploading last months Thanksgiving cards. Most of which I pretty much cased and just changed a thing or two....

Used a wheel to do this card. I like how you can use it for a "friend" Thanksgiving or just a friend card.

Of course gotta use this build a bear!!! It is just too cute!

Mom's Birthday card

Just a quick card I whipped up for my mom for her birthday. Her favorite color is blue so I made sure to have that as my main color. I brought in the pinks with the flowers and the satin ribbon. Then I topped it off with a bit of bling with some glitter on the flowers and also with the gems in the upper corner. I also did a bit of decorative punching around the main focal point. And I used some retired designer paper to kind of tie it all together. Hope you enjoy!

Lighthouse Diorama

Oh my goodness this card was so much fun to make!!! I saw one of these cards in our Stampin Success last year and it has taken me this long to finally try my hand at it. I knew I wanted to use this lighthouse set (the first set I bought from SU!) to make this. Just had to play around with the final look of the card, but I am really pleased with how this came out. Okay, I saw this tutitorial and just had to try my hand at it! I do have to say that when you're stressed, stamping is the way to help relieve it!!! Any way, I decided to try this using the Upsy Daisy stamp. Once I got going on this I found that it is pretty fun. Lots of attention to detail since you have to outline everything with a black pen/marker which makes you focus. Thus taking your mind off of everyday things that can get to you. And then once you are done you have a beautiful creation that you can be proud of. This of course is another card that is on it's way to grandma's!

Wheelie Fun Therapy Card Nite

For those girls that didn't make it to TCN here is what you missed! It's been a while since we used a wheel so I made up for it! LOL I had one girl (who never used wheels yet) make it almost all the way through class before realizing that what we were stamping with were the "wheels". She was waiting on some cards that had "wheels" (such as cars) on them. Told ya it's been a while. ;) Guess I'll need to start dragging them out a bit more....

This card uses the wheel with versa mark. Makes a great guy card, which is something I'm trying to make more of.

With this card used the wheel to make our own "decorated cardstock". This is a quick card that goes great with the Sincere Salutations set for almost any theme that may come up!

And of course using the wheel as a background for this dress just makes it pop! Along with the Eyelet Border punch to tie it all together.

Used the crayon resist technique on this card. It's been quite a while since we've played with this technique and it made it a big WOW this month!

Finally we finish the month off with a new baby jumbo wheel taking one outfit and making it pop off the page.

Laced Thinking of You...

Told you I was into the scalloped lace look! :) I really like this layout. Because it is so easy I used it again. I pulled out some old SU DSP (which I love) and put it together. I really like how the Big Shot makes putting cards together a breeze! Just switching out paper and colors changes a card so much! Enjoy!!!

Like I said before I am liking this wrinkled lace look. I think it has just set this card off! I have a pad of this "fun" paper that I just need to start using so here I go!!! Nothing after a long stressful day like playing with paper. You can do all sorts of things to it to help you relieve stress such as wadding it up, rubbing it together, even putting it through a crimper and just really twisting that handle as you let all your stress OUT!!! And in the end you find that you made something beautiful. ENJOY!!!

It's a Guy Thing ~ August TCN

For those who missed this month's Therapy Card Nite, here they are! All kinds of cards for the guys in your life!!! If you are like me, you need them badly!!! I have 2 boys and 10 nephews!!! I need guy cards!!! Boys don't care for flowers and cutesy cards much let alone a teenager!!! So I think we got a good array for all this month.

This card has that rough embossed look to it and makes a great teen card!

Here is the Make a Monster card that I cased from the catalog and changed up just a bit. Did you notice? This is good for any boy in your life!!!

Ruffled Kindness

While at Adventureland in Des Moines with my bousterious boys, I did get a chance to stop at Archiver's and shop around a bit. While there I picked up some things to make a small scrapbook of our adventure. We also stopped by the Jordan Creek Mall and window shopped a bit and I just had to get them a piece of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory!!! YUM!!!

While there, I played around with the idea of this "scrunched lace" ruffle look. So after playing around with this stamp using different colors I finally got it to come out. I also used some gems to add a little sparkle! Hope you enjoy!!! Don't forget to leave a comment!

I hate throwing anything away and anytime I can use up any little bit of scraps I jump at the opportunity. This card is a prime example! Saw a similar card and loved the idea of using up some of those "little" scraps of paper that are too small really for anything, but ugh, I just can't throw them away because...I eventually come across something like this! These were scraps that were laying in the "should be trash pile, but..." Good thing I hung onto them... Great thing about this kind of card is that you could cut out any kind of shape or even use punches to get the same effect. I free handed the heart in this card, but like I just mentioned you could do a variety of things to get this effect. So what will you come up with? You know you have some scrap paper laying around. Get them out and let your imagination run away with you....

Here is the American Flag card that we made during last months card nite. I cased this idea, but don't remember from who (so thank you to whoever came up with this idea). I changed up the "stars" by using glitter instead of stamping white stars and "zig zagging" the stripes. This was a pretty easy card and I really enjoyed making it! I love this hostess set that I got free with my order! I used my watercolor crayons on this. This stamp works great with them!!! And with the new colors that has come out the color combos are endless with this. I saw this "corner" look on someone else's card and decided to use it here. I love to look through magizines for ideas and this card is no exception. I loved the fold of this card so I tried it out for myself. Although I did measure one part wrong it still worked out ok!!! Yeah for me, cause I really didn't want to recut another card. I knew right away what paper I wanted to use along with the butterfly punch. So to make a long story short, it took me 3 days to finish this card. I just had to keep stepping away from it to know exactly what I wanted and what else to use. I am pleased with how it has come out. Hope you enjoy it too!!!

Just want to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July! So what is one of your traditions that you do each 4th of July? I make a "Flag Cake". I've been making them for almost 15 years now and it's hard to believe how popular they've become. It's still one of my favorite desserts. Mainly because it has 2 of my favorite fruits in it, blueberries and strawberries!!!

Well, believe it or not, we have finally moved! Not totally unpacked yet, but most of it is done! Can't believe how long it took to close!!! I was starting to think it was never going to happen. But it did and it has so been worth it! Well, almost...except when someone wants to know where something is. "Mom, where is ____?" "It's in a box!" "Which one?" "Don't know, read a box and look. You can do it as well as I can!" I don't ever want to move again unless someone else does the packing and unpacking for me!!!

Needless to say, I finally got most of my craft room unpacked and set up! YEA!!! So I finally had some time to play a little. Now I've seen this scalloped punched flower done a few times and knew that I wanted to try it out myself just not sure how. Then as I was going through a Paper Crafts magazine I came across a card that had this layout with the squares with 2 rounded edges on it and knew it would go great with the punched flower in the middle of it!!! So here is my rendition of it! I think it came out great!!! Tell me what you think...

Mother's Day

It's hard to believe how fast our newest edition to the Miller family has grown in just a few months. When we first got Bandit, he and Buster were the same size & weight. Buster did let him know who was boss in this house! See the expression on his face in this picture...

Although the above picture was just taken in late February see how much Bandit has grown in just a few months!!! This picture was taken at the end of April and Bandit weighs twice as much if not more than Buster now! But believe me Buster still lets it be known who is boss!!! Buster has the Big Dog syndrom and Bandit has the little dog syndrom!!! Sometimes it is just too funny to watch them together.

Aside from my puppies and packing to move to a new house in less than a week now and living out of boxes, I was able to manage to get some mother's day cards made. This is my limited supply card that I made for my mom. I just got Fifth Avenue Floral and I thought it would be a good idea to place them in the corners and cut out slots to slip in the MOM. I think this came out pretty good with the few things I used.

I've been seeing these scallop circle punch flowers and wanted to make one myself. I love how spring looking it came out! I love how easy this was and may end up doing one like this for Therapy Card Nite. This is a quick and easy WOW to show. I am sooooo loving the homemade "glimmer mist" that you can make from SU's Shimmer Paint! I know it is hard to see on here, but I sprayed the craft with it before I stamped on the Upsy Daisy flowers. This came out so pretty and soft looking. This card is almost screaming spring! Which looks like it is finally on its way!!!

Being a SU demo we get SU magazines in which I also take and make cards into my own. I so loved it the card that I incorporated it into my own once again. I used the same colors, but changed up the hearts that were used and a few other things. So, you SU demos, without looking, can you point out the differences? Oh I love going through out catty and looking at the different samples and trying to make my favorites my own. As in this card. I took the main look from the sample cup from the Thoughts & Prayers set. By using the same "look" sort of I made it in to this great card. I incorporated a SALE-A-BRATION set "Whimsical Words" to finish it off along with some ribbon. The girls really liked this card and they love this set. Liked this so much I made up a few of these cards to have on hand!

I have started doing a Scrap Time Class along with my usual Scrap Time open crop each month. We will be doing a 2 page spread each month. This month we did a Christmas Theme using the Join the Cheer Big Shot Die along with the Delightful Decorations set. Came up with this idea in the middle of the night! Ever have those nights that you can't sleep no matter how hard you try? You close your eyes and try to go to sleep, but end up looking at the clock every 10-15 minutes!!! I know that I am not alone. Anyway, I was needing to send a card to a couple to let them know that I am thinking of them and with all the snow we've gotten over the past few days this card came to mind. Who doesn't love a sock monkey? Especially one bearing gifts? I had a lot of fun with this one as I finally played with my flock that I received from my secret sister. I have never used it before and it took a while for me to finally decide to break it out and just try it already! I love it!!! It's used on his hat. I so love this set and girls, you will be seeing this little guy a lot more!

O Christmas Tree...

I did end up getting the O Christmas Tree Die last month. And to tell the truth it was a bit intimidating, but I did manage to make a few cards with it. After a few cards it is not so bad, just time consuming. The fun part is decorating! Not only did I use the tree ornamants, but I added some faux pearls. I do highly recommend using sticky strip for the whole card!

Shimmery Tree

Loving the shimmer paints and all you can do with them. Like mixing it up and making your own shimmer mist spray. I know it's hard to tell on this card, but I sprayed it on the grey cardstock and made it "shimmery"! Then I stamped the tree in whisper white craft ink. Love the look it gives here. Trust me it's a lot prettier in person.

Ok, this is a pretty much totally CASE'd card, but I don't remember from who. I look at tons of cards then I go and make the ones that really stick in my mind. But I do have to say this is a really cute card and I used it for my Therapy Card Nite class and the girls loved it!!! This was probably one of the simpler ones we made.

Note Holder "how to..."

I have had many request for the Note Holder instructions so here they are along with some picture to give that visual "understanding". (this is how I have to "see" how to prepare pieces).

NOTE HOLDER

Cut one piece of light chipboard (I used cereal boxes) to 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" and score along the long side at 2"

Cut another piece of light chipboard to 9 3/4" x 4" and score at 3/4", 3 3/8", 6 1/4", and 8 7/8" on the long side. Score the short side at 2". Next cut out the 2 side pieces and cut up to the score lines in the middle as shown. Then punch with your small tag punch. Using sticky strip fold together and you will notice that the "back" is missing. This is where your first piece of chipboard comes in. Finally, decorate your note cube. (you will need DSP measuring 2"x 12" to go around the cube)

Here are the Note Holders w/ matching pens I made for the craft fair earlier this month! Next year I will remember to cut them out to the size of post it notes so that they are easily refillable! Just wished I would of thought of that beforehand. Would of saved me a lot of paper cutting! And who else noticed...I am still using up OLD SU DSP!!! Can anyone tell me which is the oldest and from what pack it is from?

I know it's been a while since I posted, but I hope these might make up for it a little! I was in a craft show this past weekend and these are just some of what I took. The shoe template came from "SimpleDreams" and I made them into my "Shoes & Toes" for the fair! I just love them!!! They are really fun to make and are a great gift for that one who has the shoe fetish. I know you know one! I do! You really can't have too many shoes!!!

Saw this on pumpkin on square-headed stampers blog and loved it!!! So I made a card of my own using her pumpkin pattern. I tried to use a lot of earthy tones and I loved the words on every other splice of the pumpkin. Really easy card with a few extra twists. Ripped edges, direct to paper are the ones that really stand out on here.

I cased the layout of this card because I really liked it (sorry I can't remember who). I just did it in this years Stampin' Up! In Colors. It is a simple card that says fall all over it! I love the fall because of the changing leaves and I am one of those that LOVES the smell of burning leaves. Fall is such a neat season with all the earthy colors and smells it just makes you want to be outside!

Yeah! After trying to upload this one here all day I ended up having to retake and re-uploading (if that is even a word) to get it to come out right!!! My grandmother had her 2nd hip replacement last month and is still recouperating. I've made her up another card with the Thought's & Prayers set I finally got! (this is a card I sketched in my "Create"-ive Book I made recently which will be posted soon) I like coloring our stamps with the markers and this is a great set to do that with as you can see (barely) with the tree. I finished it off with some of SU's older ribbons that I still have some of.

"D" Circle Box

Love this box I made using the Scallop Circle Die for the Big Shot. This one I made the other week when I spent the day with Jamie. She showed me how to make it so that when mine came in I would be able to do it! I love it! This is so cute and easy and makes a good "gift" box for any occasion. I put a "D" on top of mine as I plan on giving it to my sister Dena. I do think this may be an upcoming stamp camp. I can't wait!!!

Paper Piecing Technique

Here was a simple technique we did using the new Build a Bear stamps. We did the paper piecing technique where we stamped the bears on white and then stamped them on colored card stock to cut their clothes out and piece them on. Other than having to cut alot this is a super easy technique to do. I think the girls had more fun getting to stamp with the Build a Bears stamps than anything with this one!

Shaving Cream Technique

One of my favorite techniques I learned to do years ago is this one. I've done it a few times over the years for Therapy Card Nite, but guess I never realized how many new girls have come along. Only a few remember doing this technique, but for the new ones it was another "wow" to them!!! Once again it is a technique that uses our ink refills so the girls learned a couple of ways to use them. I think that in itself "wowed" them. It's fun when you can find more than one use for something so simple that it gets overlooked most of the time. To add a little something more to the card, we put some shaker eyes on and glittered the wings up. Once again, this technique allows each card to come out differently. I love all the different patterns that come out of this technique and the way the colors start to blend together after laying a few down in the shaving cream.

Watercolor Crayon Technique

OK, honestly, after having these crayons for over a year just so that I could try this technique myself, it took me having a technique nite for Therapy Card Nite to finally do it! And boy do I love it!!! It took a few trial & error plays, but I finally got it figured out! I am definitly going to need more solid stamps just so I can do this some more!!! The girls were just as "wowed" with this technique as I was when I first saw it years ago!!! I am just sorry it took me so long to finally have the gumption to do it! What took me so long???

Baby Wipe Technique

Did some new techniques with the girls for Therapy Card Nite. Not only new to them, but me as well. There's been a few techniques that I've wanted to try and what better way to try them than to have a Technique Nite with the girls to get myself to finally try them.

So this one is my Baby Wipe Technique card. The girls really got a kick out of this. Not only as a technique, but to learn another use for our ink refills! I really like how this set did with this technique. So did the girls. It was fun to see the different looks of everyones cards. No two the same with this technique!

I decided to make a simple card by limiting myself to 1 stamp pad & 3 markers from the same color family. I tried a few times to do this card with the watercolor crayons, but the design is a little to delicate to come out right. Atleast for me. I really like this hostess set with the fine delicate details of the birds wing. This is a set I will be playing with for a while. I decided on making the bird red, as I have been seeing alot of cardinals (the birds not the baseball players) lately. I love cardinals and blue jays. I love the way the light hits them and plays on their colors making them more vibrant. To me, birds are a joy to watch!

Razzelberry Lemonade Scrapbook Purse 2

Here is another take on the Razzelberry Lemonade Scrapbook Purses that I am making for my Stamp Camp this month! These papers are so neat and yummy! I love the patterns and colors combinations!!! Don't you just love how the papers coordinate so well with each other to the point that you don't have to guess what goes together!!! I am liking these so much that I do believe I am going to make a few for the Christmas Craft show that I am in! What mom or grandmother wouldn't like to have one of these filled with pictures of the kids/family from the year??? Or what friend wouldn't love to have one of her own to put pictures in???

YEAH!!! I think I finally figured out my upload problem so I should be back in business!!! Anyway, this is one of the samples of my Scrapbook Purse Stamp Camp for this month. We will be using In Colors and the Razzelberry Lemonade DSP. This is one (like the title says) of 2 samples I made. I am really liking this paper. Not to mention the In Colors this year. Sweet Summer

Finally!!! I've gotten one picture downloaded fully! I finally made some of the popcycle cards I've seen around. I really think this would work good doing a scratch-n-sniff. Just think of all the smells you could do with this!!! I think I may just have to make some up! Well, it has been a wonderful summer, I guess if you can call it that here in Iowa! We really had more of a spring straight to fall season this year. I hope that does not mean that we are in for a COLD COLD winter. Although I am looking forward to sledding and ice skating this year! Well, here is to the end of summer!

Alright, I know that not all of this picture came out, but in my defense I do have to say I've tried downloading this card tons of times over the course of 4 days! I finally just gave up and hope you can picture the rest of it on your own. This is another one of my "New School Colors" Therapy Card Nite cards. The bottom portion that you can not see is the rest of the scallop oval/oval punch which says: Thank You for your friendship. As you can see, there is a piece of ribbon that is underneath it and then there is about an inch of the card left to the bottom. So all you bloggers, do you ever struggle with downloading your pictures? I really like this technique. It is pretty much the same as poppin' pastels! Which is what I may do for next months technique nite theme of Therapy Card Nite!

My theme for Therapy Card Nite this month was New School Colors. I use a play on words for themes sometimes, so this month was a combo of school cards and In Colors. This card, although for some reason came out kinda dark, was made with all In Colors. I am really liking our new In Colors this year! I am ready for my 3rd pack already and it's only August! The girls are really getting a kick out of playing with the Big Shot also. How did we get along without this tool for so long???

Back to School!

Wow! I can't believe August has come and almost gone already! This month has gone by fast and now school has started. My youngest started high school today. I can hardly believe it. It seems like yesterday he was starting kindergarten, now he is a freshman. It's just like the song "Don't blink". How true it is. Anyway, this is a card I did based off of the backpacks I've seen made. I thought this would make a cute card. So I just took the front of the pack and made it into a card. My girls got a big kick out of this non stamping card. Just some bending, punching, and wa-la it's done!

Secret Sister Goodies....

Just finished a round of Secret Sisters with Splitcoaststampers and these are the goodies I made my lil' sister. Going off what she shared about herself and her likes, I decorated containers and boxes that held her gifts. I am really liking the new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. Oh my goodness, the new In Colors are sooo yummy!!! I made the box at the bottom of the picture here for the Extreme Skateboard set I got her. Now that I have the knack down for making boxes of different sizes I've noticed I've been making them alot now.

For this package of Caramel flavored Hot Chocolate, I cased a template from Jamie and used the flowered Crused Curry & Dusty Durango DSP for the body and the Soft Suede Top Note Die Cut for the topper. I also used a stamp from last years SAB Yummy set and embossed it.

Here I decorated a pringles can and filled it with Caramel filled Ghiridelli Chocolates. Once again I used Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and the Eastern Blooms stamp set. I really enjoy making these cans as you can fill them up with just about anything.

She said she loved "baked goods" candle scents so I got her a baked cookies candle and decorated a holder with one of last years Rub-on sets called Love and Happiness and topped it off with the wide Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon.

As soon as I saw this stamp I knew what I wanted to do with it. I made the background using the Razzelberry Lemonade DSP and cut it and staggered it to give it that "rockin'" look. I also used the direct to paper technique to make the background on the Crushed Curry. The Jumbled Alphabet came in very handy on this card too. And yes, the edges are distressed and edged with Rich Razzelberry! I hope my son enjoys this card.

Summertime dress!

I am so in love with this die to make this dress!!! I was at a friends house (Jamie's) and got to use this die and it is now at the top of my list of things to get!!! I cut out alot of the scalloped circles using, of course, my retired DSP's. I let the girls at Card Nite choose one and cut it out to make this dress card this month! I have been using my Big Shot some how every month and the girls are really loving it!

Bustin' Out!

As promised, here is the other "half" of the previous card. A few girls that they modestly covered their bottoms had very skimpy tops!!! Never the less they were creative in how they made their tops work. They made them into strapless tops since the "straps" in no way long enough. They did take one "strap" and fold it over the middle where the top comes together to give it a little hold and to make it look like that is how it was meant to be. One even said she was going to make cleavage on hers when she got home!!! I do think this will be one of our regular summer cards since the girls loved them so much. Oh yeah, the middle says "It's the little things that make life Big!"

Bottoms Up!

Here is another card from this months Summertime Fun Card Nite. All the girls got a BIG kick out of this card. Not only for this card, but for the saying inside. "Dreams come a size too big so we can grow into them." This of course is the first half of the card as I explained to the girls, but not everyone picked it up right away. Some made sure their bottoms were covered pretty well, but by the next card were wishing they would of skimped just a little more. "Butt" all in all, they got a big laugh with the cards. Stay tuned to see the other half to this card.
